About

Ben Myhre

My name is Ben Myhre and I live in Fargo, ND with my awesome wife, a great Golden Retriever named Charlie and three cats.  I have been the Support Coordinator at a local marketing and technology company for the past 4 years.  Prior to current employment, I have been in the tech industry for about the past decade and have also spent time bartending, cooking and serving in the National Guard.

This blog is a record of one regular guy’s journey into being green and an environmentalist.  Over 52 weeks, my wife will give me one task to complete over the week.  It can either be a short term task or a long term task.  I have generally not wanted to be bothered with going out of my way to be green, but I have recently decided that I could just as well do my part to be part of the solution rather than the problem.  My wife has always been somewhat green and I figured this to be a good way to incorporate her wishes with my recent revelations.

I am an Army Vet who is a member of the VFW and I enjoy fishing (particularly ice fishing), watching my big screen TV, drinking beers and spending time with friends/family.

Ashley Myhre

My name is Ashley.  I have been overly ecstatic when my husband said he was going to start this blog.  Not only is it something that I am interested in, but it will stop the annoying wasteful habits my husband has grown used to.  I haven’t been as a huge environmentalist very long, but it is something I am very passionate about.  I have grown up with parents who always recycled newspapers and cans, but I have stepped a bit further than that.  I understand that climate change could be an irreversible affect of our overuse of natural resources and we need to slow down the progression before it’s too late.

Now, here is a little more about me.  I have lived in North Dakota most of my life.  I have 3 cats which are myashbeach children, and Charlie, our dog is more of my husband’s boy.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and work as an Internet Analyst and Merchandising Coordinator at one of the largest growing vitamin companies.  I love my job and I love the company I work for.  We have tons of natural and/organic products that make me feel healthy and I know I am doing right for my body.

Some more of my interests include art of many kinds.  I enjoy photography, but I also dive into a little crafting, like homemade invitations and cards.  I have attempted to scrapbook but it was too time consuming.  Also, remodeling my home has become a growing interest to me, and I do it in a way to reduce my impact on the environment.  I love being outside, not in an outdoorsy sort of way like camping and fishing, but in a gardening and relaxing sort of way.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little more and most importantly, I hope we can entertain you with our little blog.  Feel free to contribute to our topics during the week if you have good ideas we can implement in our daily routine.  We will change it up every week with a new topic so keep posted!

Hi – good for you, doing this. I’ll try and follow.

Are you on twitter? I follow a lot of environmental stuff on there – and it’d be good to add you to it.

My wife and I are in a similar lifestyle, trying to go green – and enjoy it! (Our website blog has more if you get bored and fancy a read).

    Best wishes

    Malcolm
