Hello world! What does ‘being green’ mean to you?

Today, I am not a green guy and want to find out what this means to you.  Until recently, I have never considered myself to be an environmentalist or concerned myself much with being green.  This blog is an exercise for me to learn about the movement, if (and how much) I believe is real, what I can learn from the readers and ultimately what lifestyle changes I can make to help do my part to help the planet… if any.

Over the next year, my wife Ashley is going to assign me various tasks to learn what it means to be green.  She is already on this path and has made several changes around the house.  She goes out of her way to recycle, she composts and she consciously makes effort to conserve energy.  I, on the other hand, do my best to make my wife happy, but have a tough time making any changes if it will inconvenience me.  Believe me, I do try, but I could be better and hope that this exercise will make me more aware of the impact I am having.

So, thanks for reading my first entry and I hope you can stick around to join me on this journey.  I am really not sure where this is going to go, so please help me out and add a comment on what being green means to you.
