Method Hand Soap Review

I really hate throwing away so much garbage just by purchasing products we use every day. Now, even more things are being individually packaged for our convenience. This packaging is taking over our landfills. I seek to find products and companies that reduce their packaging and reduces our waste in the end.

I did find one company in the home cleaning aisle of Target. Method, creates formulas that are biodegradable and derived from natural materials. They are also a very green company because their packaging is made from the most readily recyclable materials. They also offset any CO2 emissions with carbon credits. Their products are never tested on animals, which is something is very important to me when I search for products.

I really love the scent of the lavender one that I purchased. I purchased this product specifically because right next to it in the store was the refills that you would purchase. This cuts out the need to purchase another pump and a reduces the amount of garbage thrown away and plastic products that are manufactured. If you have any other comments about cleaners have reduced their packing leave it in the comments section below.

  1. Again we’re on the same wave-length! I was really pleased to find Wow Green home cleaning products for the conscientious packaging as well as the environmentally friendly and totally non-toxic ingredients. You don’t even have to drive to the store to purchase them – it’s done online and shipped to you – refills as a concentrate, so not even shipping the biggest ingredient in most things – water! Cost is comparable to store-bought items.
I check MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) on products to really see what’s in them. Surprisingly, a lot of the ‘Green’ or ‘Eco-Friendly’ products still have yucky stuff in them – just below the threshold of what’s considered ‘un-green’ or ‘toxic’. To check MSDS on a product, just Google the product name followed by MSDS, and you can read exactly what’s in the product as well as what to do if you get it on your skin or inhale or ingest it. Watch out – all that glitters is not ‘Green’.

Thank you so much for the comment. I vaguely knew about the MSDS by reading a couple of green guide books, and I think it is frusterating that you have to look up ingredients in products you put on your skin to make sure they are safe. I wish everything that says, “natural,” “green,” and “organic” was exactly made that way. You really have to understand your products and ingredients. I will look into Wow Green products online. I think I even seen that name through some vitamin companies I work with every day.

I went for skin allergy tests but when asked to be tested for the ingredients found in cosmetics and cleaning products, I was told this is not possible. So it’s either keep scratching or start eliminating on my own – a daunting task to say the least!

I know tests like that do exist. I’ve read that these tests bring up a whole array of toxic chemicals found in your blood stream. With skin being your biggest organ, we need to protect it by controlling the types of products/chemicals we put on it. I am trying to use up the last of my non-organic body care products; after that I am all organic, or non scented products. I think these chemicals do more harm than good.
