Week 1 – Discover, follow and recommend green blogs

by admin Leave a reply »

Today starts a whole new experiences for me.  For those who have not read any of my previous posts, Ashley my wife is going to assign me a green task to complete every week.  This is the first week and her task is for me to follow a few specific web sites and also to find a few new environmentally friendly sites for her to follow.

She wants me to begin following three specific sites.  These sites are The Daily Green, Tree Hugger, and worldwatch.org.  I am open to this experience and all, but never would have thought, in a million years, that I would follow a site called www.treehugger.com.  Never.  Well, I have taken a quick peek at these sites and hope they will bring me tons of earthy, greeny news.

For the second part, I am going to need to provide Ashley with 3-5 sites for her to follow that she may have interest in.  So, please leave a comment below of your green blog or a green blog that you think might be of interest to me.  If you would like to contact me directly to let me know about your earth friendly site, feel free to contact me at ben@guygoesgreen.com.  I will keep you all posted on the progress and please contact me if you have any questions or comments.

You should ride your bike to work every day instead of driving your car. Some guy where I work at does that, even during the winter. :)

Thanks for the comment Jenna. Although I really like the idea of riding my bike to work, I would have to get up an hour and a half earlier…. no way.

I would consider taking the bus if it were time constructive. You should sign up to be a subscriber! Thanks again for commenting.

  3. I just found your blog here and have not had a chance to read your older posts. It’s very cool your allowing your wife to give u green tasks. I have a feeling you and my husband are a lot alike. I started going green a very long time before he did.

Tara, as much as I would like to say I wear the pants in the family (and tell people that when she is not around)… this is just an easier way to accept the inevitable. Really though, we figured it would be a fun way to do this and probably a learning experience for both of us.

  5. I think it is great! Now, we have to get more husbands to follow along. Glad I found your blog.
