It is a new week and Ashley has assigned me a new green challenge. Since we are having a giveaway this week where the winner gets a NatureMill composter, it is fitting that we have a challenge this week that involves food. Our green task for the week is to try and eat organically this week and keep track of all food items we throw in the garbage.
Eating organically can help remind us how good natural food is. In my opinion, the best kind of “organic” food is the kind that comes from our own gardens and caught outside of corporate farms. It is gratifying to be able to eat our own food and even though we are toward the end of winter, we still have some home grown food as well as some meat that we have caught ourselves.
Keeping track of our food waste for the week will help us determine what we can change about our habits and make sure we are staying honest with what we are throwing away. We will certainly be bringing up our NatureMill composter this week to promote the giveaway, but only because it has been a really good tool for us to use in our going green adventure. Stay tuned… it should be a fun week!

I would love to win- just started my first Obama-nomics garden: Our household’s income was slammed because of the downturn in the economy.
Cindy… I am rooting for you. Garden is a cheap way to get food and probably 10 times healthier than the crap a person gets from all the middle isles. Good luck!
